Jennifer grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Continuing on her path to Physician Assistant school she worked as a CNA in a Long Term Care facility and Adult Day Center working accumulating her clinical hours for PA school.

Facing a plethora of hormonal & gut health issues of her own she sought out doctor after doctor with no help and was only given prescription drugs to mask the symptoms. It was a Wellness Way Chiropractor who finally could provide answers, healing and ultimately a job! She worked as a Chiropractic Assistant and Social Media Coordinator until she ultimately realized she wanted to be a chiropractor.

She attended Life University in the Spring of 2021 and has since completed all of her schooling & all 5 parts of chiropractic boards. She is officially board-certified and interning at The Wellness Way Sarasota until she graduates in December. Jennifer will be joining our team as Dr. Jennifer Farrar starting mid-January!

Dr. Rachel grew up in Long Island, New York. During her high school years, she endured constant headaches, digestive issues, irregular menstrual cycles and was constantly being tested for autoimmune diseases. After spending over a year visiting an array of specialists within the medical field and leaving without answers as to what was causing her symptoms, Dr. Rachel decided to visit a local chiropractor, who eventually changed the trajectory of her life. Within weeks, her headaches subsided. After avoiding inflammatory foods such as gluten and dairy from her diet, her digestive issues improved. Her menstrual cycle which was non-existent for over 10 months became regular. The positive autoimmune markers found through lab work eventually reversed to negative and her symptoms subsided.

Dr. Rachel went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at The University of Virginia. Immediately after college graduation, she attended Life University where she received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. It was then that Dr. Rachel learned first-hand how greatly stress can negatively affect our hormones and overall health. She struggled with endometriosis, which interrupted her ability to enjoy her life, pain-free.

Along with hormonal struggles, she fought with post-concussive symptoms. Dr. Rachel sought out a local Chiropractic Functional Neurologist who taught her that the eyes are the window to the brain and that brain-based therapies have the potential to re-wire any disconnect between the brain and the body. Dr. Rachel’s concussive symptoms improved drastically over several months. In addition, she discovered The Wellness Way clinics and was able to obtain comprehensive laboratory testing. By addressing primary issues first, such as her gut health and stress levels, and incorporating nutritional supplementation into her daily regimen, she has been able to balance her hormones and address her endometriosis without medications.

Dr. Rachel has had her fair share of health hurdles but without them, she would not have had found her true purpose and passion in life. She has learned that the human body has the incredible potential to heal when interference and stressors are removed from the system. Dr. Rachel is forever grateful for the healers she has met along her journey and embraces the opportunity to help others who are struggling like she once did.

Dr. Connor grew up in Columbus, Ohio. As an active child, he played multiple sports, from baseball to football to wrestling. He attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, with a minor in Nutrition. Through his studies, Dr. Connor further developed a deep interest in the power of the human body. He always envisioned himself attending medical school to further his education, but soon realized that his true purpose was elsewhere.

As a sophomore in college, Dr. Connor dislocated his shoulder, which marked the first of numerous musculoskeletal injuries to come. After having surgery on this shoulder, he re-dislocated it 20 more times. Since the surgery was not a success, he knew there must be an alternative solution. Dr. Connor discovered Advanced Muscle Integration Technique (AMIT), which allowed him to regain his shoulder stability and pain-free range of motion. He has since utilized this powerful technique to rehab his sprained ankles and many other injuries that he has endured. The ability to rehab an injury without the use of drugs or surgery fascinates him. Dr. Connor’s passion now lies in injury prevention and rehabilitation. His aim is to help other athletes and active individuals return to their sport or activity as quickly as possible, while avoiding continual re-injuries.

After interning with a chiropractor and nutritionist, Dr. Connor learned that his fatigue, concentration issues, and heart palpitations were not normal and there were physiological systems that needed additional support in his body. After proper testing, Dr. Connor has gained first-hand appreciation for what an individualized nutrition plan can do for one’s health.

Dr. Connor’s current focus includes training for triathlons and ironman competitions. This focus has added to his passion for assisting endurance athletes to avoid injuries through foundational exercises and focused strength training. Dr. Connor’s hope is to provide alternative rehabilitative approaches to help his patients restore their health, drug and surgery-free.
